Hopetoun is located approximately 14 kilometres (9 miles) North-West from the centre
of Edinburgh.

From the south, the easiest route is via the M6, M74 and M8 motorways. Follow the signs for M8 Glasgow, then once you reach the M8, follow signs for Edinburgh.

From Newcastle, use the A1, the A720 Edinburgh bypass and the M8.

Follow signs for Edinburgh and the Forth Road Bridge. Leave the M8 at junction 2 and follow signs for the Forth Road Bridge - this takes you onto the M9.

Leave the motorway, still following signs for the Forth Road Bridge and join the A8000
at a small roundabout, bearing left for the Forth Bridge. At the next roundabout,
go straight on, still heading for the Forth Road Bridge. At the last roundabout
before the bridge, go straight ahead onto the A904. Do not cross the Bridge.

Follow the A904 for about 2½ miles to the village of Newton. Turn right (signposted Abercorn Church) and follow the HDT signs to the stabling area.
