Points League Rules from 2009 onwards
- Only SCDA members will be eligible to gain points in the Scottish Points league.
- For points to count, the member's SCDA subscription must have been paid prior to the event.
- Points will be awarded from 10 points for first place to 1 point for 10th place, irrespective of the number of SCDA members in the class.
- The placings of competitors who are not SCDA members will be disregarded. Thus for the purpose of the Scottish Points league, the highest placed SCDA member in the class will be considered to have come first and will receive 10 points, the next placed SCDA member receiving 9 points, and so on.
- The maximum number of events that will count towards a member's points league placing is 3 less than the total number of Scottish Points events which take place that year. A competitor's best placings will be counted if more than the maximum number of eligible events have been completed.
- A member's points will count irrespective of which horse or pony they are driving in a particular class.
- If a member competes in a different class, then separate points will be awarded for each class.
- In the event of a tie for first place in the Points League, the marathon scores of all mutually contested events will be taken into account, and the competitor with the lowest score will be placed first.
